From ending fossil finance
to repowering people
Our team worked for several years as End Fossil Finance against the financing of fossil fuels.
We organised artistic actions, educated through workshops, disrupted AGMs, challenged G7 meetings, met stakeholders or exchanged and strategised with frontline activists facing destructive projects in their territories. Throughout these years we made many beautiful connections and learned a lot. We are thankful for this time.
The 2023 Basel “Peoples’ Forum for Climate Justice and Financial Regulation” marked the start of our work as End Fossil Finance. Together with many partner organisations, activists, organisers and financial experts we challenged the Bank for International Settlements.
In 2024 we brought we organised an End Fossil Finance tour, organising workshops in Switzerland, Sweden, Italy and Spain while challenging fossil fuel and bank AGMs as well as the G7 meetings in Italy.
In 2025 we organised actions together with FFF Sweden as well as Ta Tillbaka Framtiden, targeting the AGM of Sweden’s biggest fossil bank SEB as well as addressing financial regulators such as Riksbanken.
A new focus
However, with the changing political landscape we decided in mid-2025 to refocus our work on a more concrete and socially grounded area: community energy. Using our knowledge and skills that we have acquired fighting fossil finance, we are now building popular support for energy communities and the public funding needed for a swift build-out of just, decentralised, community-owned, and democratically controlled renewable energy systems across Europe.
